ODOT: Broken, missing bolts to overhead sign on I-90 cause ‘emergency’ closure

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – The Ohio Division of Transportation (ODOT) stated a stretch of I-90 eastbound East of downtown was closed on Thursday afternoon after staff discovered a security challenge with an overhead signal.

In accordance with the spokesperson with ODOT District 12, crews have been checking a guardrail broken in a crash, once they seen an overhead signal assist had additionally been broken within the crash.

“Out of an abundance of warning, crews determined to shut the interstate and instantly take away the broken assist,” stated ODOT Public Data Officer Amanda McFarland.
