Northeast Ohio Weather: Warming up, daily opportunity for rain and storms
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Outside of a few isolated showers and storms that have developed today, it has been beautiful!
Plenty of sunshine this evening will give way to a mostly clear sky overnight.
Expect lows to dip into the lower 60s.
Sunday starts out a lot like today with plenty of sunshine and afternoon clouds.
We do expect more widespread coverage of daytime heat driven showers and storms Sunday afternoon into the early evening.
Pockets of heavy rain and lightning may briefly send plans indoors until activity passes, but we are not anticipating severe weather.
This daily opportunity for showers and storms lingers through all of next week.
Most shower and thunderstorm activity will be focused along a lake breeze as it moves inland each afternoon.
Temperatures are also significantly heating up this week.
Sunday’s highs will be into the lower 80s.
Monday will feel similar to Sunday with more humidity in the air.
By Tuesday, highs are back in the upper 80s to the lower 90s through the end of the work week.
It will be very humid next week leading to heat index values into the upper 90s — that’s how warm the temperature will feel in the shade.
Please stay hydrated and find ways to stay cool as we look towards our first hot summer stretch of weather.
More organized rain chances return next weekend.
