Kendrick Perkins Says LeBron, Durant, and Steph Are A Better Big Three Than Jordan, Magic, and Bird
ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins made a bold statement Monday on First Take.
He thinks the Olympics trio of LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Steph Curry are better than Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, and Larry Bird from the 1992 Dream Team.
Before making his point, he started off with showering praise to the old heads.
“I’m gonna put a lot respect to the old heads when you talk about Larry, Magic, and Jordan,” he said. “I mean you think about. Bird and Magic they saved the game of basketball. Jordan was Disneyworld to to the game of basketball. I still got J’s on my feet. My closet is filled with Js. Great.”
Then he went in beginning with Curry.
“When it comes to Steph, KD, and Bron, it’s just different” Perkins said. “It’s just different. What they done for the game of basketball. We talk about Steph Curry, right, has changed the game forever. Has completely changed the point guard position. He has given hope to all the undersized athletes in a basketball world that they could make just solely based on how he’s able to move without the ball, his skill, and most importantly his shooting. The greatest shooter of all time.”
Perkins says Durant is the greatest scorer.
“Then you go over to Kevin Durant,” he said. “Kevin Durant in my eyes is the greatest scorer to ever touch the damn basketball. When you talk about being 7 foot, 7’1, I know he says his 6’9 but I beg to differ and when it comes down to him putting the ball in the bucket, we’ve never seen nothing like this in life. Again he has changed the game of basketball. That’s why we’re seeing guys like Victor Wembanyama at 7’4, 7’5 that’s able to step out on the wing and give you two dribble pull ups, has the in and outs, and things of that nature. It’s because of KD. He’s efficient. He gets it done. Multiple scoring titles. Two time finals MVP. One time MVP.”
Last but not least, LeBron James.
“What can we say? He’s going to be eligible for his pension in about five years and he’s still going strong,” Perkins said. “Still one of the best players in the game. The most important player to basketball and his resume speaks for itself. “

People in this Cleveland, Ohio neighborhood are angry after an ambulance was dispatched to an Ohio woman’s home.
People have complained for many years that the wait to get medical attention after calling 9-1-1 in Cleveland is dangerously long. Somehow, a 71-year-old woman got an ambulance in just 3 minutes when she called the emergency number asking for help charging her smartphone according to Fox 8,
She told dispatchers she has no power, and she needed to go to the hospital to charge her phone. She also mentioned police refused to take her.
The report from Fox 8 points out that EMS is short-staffed likely leaving actual medical emergencies with long waiting times while Cleveland EMS stayed with this Ohio woman for nearly an hour.
The elderly woman did tell the 9-1-1 dispatcher that she was in pain during the end of her call which triggered an ambulance. You can imagine a confused elderly person calling 9-1-1 while experiencing a much more serious emergency than they can communicate. However, many people are questioning how she got medics to respond that quickly and stay for so long. The elderly woman was not taken to the hospital by the medics but Cleveland EMS did confirm she had no power and was very upset.

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – FirstEnergy said power should be restored earlier than its original August 14 date in a release Sunday afternoon and Cleveland Public Power announced that 97% of customers have been restored.

In the First Energy release, it shared that thanks to the over 7,500 storm responders, customers can expect power restoration much sooner, and a small number of customers in areas with more extensive damage may extend further into the week.
Similarly, CPP said there are currently 1,020 customers without service and more than 150 CPP line workers, transmission and distribution inspectors, line clearance workers and support staff working on restoration efforts.
Over 24 thousand people remain in the dark Sunday afternoon in what power companies are calling a ‘historic’ outage following Tuesday’s storms.

As of 10:30 a.m. Sunday, 36,804 FirstEnergy customers in Northeast Ohio are without power. For reference, as of approximately 4:15 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 273,354 customers were without power.
Over 2,500 crews are also coming into Northeast Ohio from other states to assist in the outages.
