The Cavs remain perfect after a complete annihilation of the Golden State Warriors on Friday evening. They’ll try to back that up the following night.

What to watch for
Cavaliers offense
The Cavs registered the highest-scoring first half (83 points) in franchise history last night.
Think that’s impressive? Well, Cleveland is also currently posting the highest offensive rating in league history. That might not stay true for the entire season but one thing is clear — this Cavalier team is pouring it on at historic rates.
Small sample size, new era, but….
The Cleveland Cavaliers currently possess the best offense (122.7 rating) not just in the league, not just in franchise history, but in NBA (!!!) history.

This start to the year is more than a prolific hot streak. The Cavaliers aren’t receiving scorching hot shooting nights on difficult attempts from their stars. No, this offense is generating easy looks that have been converted at an absurd rate. The law of averages should cause a dip in their efficiency eventually but there’s no reason to think this has been a fluke. We shouldn’t expect a major shift until teams figure out how to stop Cleveland from creating open shots. So far, that’s proven to be quite the task.
Brooklyn enters this game with the league’s 16th-best defense.
A dynamic Brooklyn backcourt
The Nets are in the thick of a rebuild. Still, they have a handful of players who can perform. Cam Thomas and Dennis Schroder have been the biggest standouts.
Thomas and Schroder are combining for 45.5 points per game as one of the more surprising and dynamic backcourt in the NBA. Schroder is a crafty veteran who most of us are familiar with. But Thomas has emerged as a 23-year-old flamethrower. He’s attempting the 10th most field goals per game as a microwave scorer who is never bashful.
Avoiding a lull
It would be fair to assume that since the Cavaliers handled a red-hot team such as the Warriors with ease — that a game against the Nets should be a breeze. While that might prove to be true, the Cavs don’t want to take their eyes off the ball.
Winning 10 straight games can be just as exhausting as it is exhilarating. The second night of a back-to-back, in a matchup that isn’t nearly as exciting (on paper), is the type of game that could cause a lull for anyone.
But the Cavaliers have every reason to keep their foot on the gas. This is a team that few analysts believed in entering the season. They made a statement last night. So much so, that none of their starters played more than 30 minutes. The Cavaliers should be relatively rested and prepared to add another win to their streak.
If you’re currently going through a bit of Cleveland Cavaliers withdrawal, you won’t have to wait much longer. Sure, you won’t see Donovan Mitchell or Evan Mobley, but some of the younger, intriguing players could be seeing the floor in the NBA’s Las Vegas Summer League 2026.
This summer, the games will begin on Thursday, July 9th, and go through Sunday, July 19th. All 76 games will air across ESPN platforms and Amazon Prime. Each team will play at least five games. The first four will take place between July 9th-16th. Semi-Final games will take place on Saturday, July 18th, airing on Amazon Prime, with the Championship game airing on July 19th on ESPN.

The Cavs will find out their 5th opponent after their first four games are completed, and will see if they are to move on to the semi-finals for the final weekend.
The Cavaliers Potential Summer League Roster:
While the roster should be announced in a few days, the Cavaliers have been building organizational depth, starting with drafting Meleek Thomas in the second round of the 2026 NBA Draft. The team reportedly signed Ernest Udeh, Jr. out of Miami (FL) to a two-way contract and has added Texas A&M forward Rashaun Agee, and Florida guard Xavian Lee to Exhibit 10 contracts.
Tyrese Proctor is also a possibility to play for the team, but we know he will be playing with the Australian national team this summer. Expect fellow two-way player Tristan Enaruna to play as well but the Cavs may need to fill their final two-way spot as Riley Minix has been reported to sign with ASVEL in France.
Summer League is a great opportunity for players to get eyes on them and show their potential. This is also how the Cavs have succeeded over the years, finding diamonds in the rough who contribute to the main roster down the road. Let’s see if the Cavaliers find another hidden gem in a few weeks.

ERIE COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) – Ohio troopers said a 13-year-old boy died Thursday from injuries stemming from an ATV crash on Sunday afternoon.
The highway patrol has identified the victim as Lamonie Campbell from Cleveland.
The crash, which also hurt a 10-year-old boy, took place around 1:45 p.m. in the eastbound lane of State Route 113 in Milan Township.
The 10-year-old was operating an ATV, with Campbell as the passenger, when the crash happened.
A Toyota, operated by a Berlin Heights man, struck the ATV as it entered State Route 113 from a private drive, troopers said.
According to the highway patrol, the ATV caught fire as a result of the crash, which also sent the Toyota off the roadway before it rolled and struck a pole.
First responders first took the boys to Fisher-Titus Medical Center for treatment.
Troopers said the 13-year-old was later flown by medical helicopter to a Cleveland hospital.
There’s no update at this time on the 10-year-old’s condition.
State Route 113 was closed for approximately one hour and 50 minutes.
The highway patrol will continue to investigate the crash.
