Grayslake teen among 3 University of Oklahoma meteorology students killed while storm chasing

TONKAWA, Okla. (WLS) — A 19-year-old man from suburban Grayslake is amongst three College of Oklahoma college students killed whereas returning residence from storm chasing.

Gavin Quick was a passenger in a Volkswagen Tiguan that crashed on Interstate 35 close to Tonkawa, Oklahoma late Friday night time, in line with freeway patrol.

The automobile was being pushed by Nicholas Nair, 20, of Denton, Texas. The opposite passenger is recognized as Drake Brooks, 22, of Evansville, Indiana, police mentioned.

The scholars had been returning residence from storm chasing in Kansas when their automobile hydroplaned and was struck by a semi truck, officers mentioned.
