Flights delayed at multiple airports due to Southwest Airlines outage

HOUSTON, Texas — Flights operated by Southwest Airways had been delayed early Saturday morning, in accordance with a press release made by the airline.

The delays had been attributable to a system outage that’s country-wide.

An Eyewitness Information crew was at Houston’s Pastime Worldwide Airport when passengers had been informed that they had been unable to board their flight because of the outage and they are going to be up to date each 10 minutes.

At Chicago’s Halfway Airport, 10 flights have been canceled and 54 have been delayed. Arrival delays had been averaging an hour and 13 minutes.

In a press release to ABC Information, Southwest provided their apologies for any inconvenience: “A few of our earliest departing flights had been delayed this morning, and a handful of them canceled after we skilled intermittent expertise points following routine in a single day upkeep. We provide heartfelt apologies to our clients for any inconvenience, and gratitude to our staff who’re working diligently to make it as much as them. We’ll proceed to replace Clients whose journey with us at the moment may be delayed as results of the now-resolved points.”
