COVID Illinois Update: IL reports 1,723 new cases, 15 deaths

CHICAGO (WLS) — Illinois reported 1,723 new COVID instances and 15 associated deaths Thursday, together with the fewest hospitalizations since July 11.

IDPH notes that “day by day deaths reported on weekends and in the beginning of the week could also be low as IDPH and native well being departments transfer away from reviewing and processing COVID-19 loss of life information over the weekend. These deaths will likely be captured in subsequent days.”
