Chicago carjacking suspect charged after pursuit prompted Northwestern’s downtown campus lockdown

CHICAGO (WLS) — A carjacking suspect who police stated prompted a lockdown on Northwestern College’s Chicago campus has been charged.

Chicago police stated Trimane Kimbrough, 19, took a automobile at gunpoint Monday afternoon within the Rogers Park neighborhood.

After ditching the automobile on DuSable Lake Shore Drive, police stated Kimbrough ran onto the Northwestern College’s Streeterville campus, prompting an hour-long lockdown.

Kimbrough was then arrested within the basement of a faculty constructing, police stated. On Wednesday, police stated Kimbrough was charged with vehicular carjacking, aggravated illegal use of a weapon, possession of a stolen car together with a number of misdemeanor expenses.
