8th grader arrested for bringing loaded gun to Crete-Monee Middle School
UNIVERSITY PARK, Sick. (WLS) — Faculty district officers stated an eighth grader was arrested Thursday for bringing a loaded gun to Crete-Monee Center Faculty in College Park.
A spokesman for Faculty District 201-U stated a safety guard observed an unattended backpack within the cafeteria round 10:50 a.m. The backpack was searched and a loaded gun was discovered inside.
In a letter house to oldsters, college officers stated the varsity was positioned on a Maintain and Train, or mushy lockdown, whereas directors contacted College Park police. The scholar was taken off the premises by police, college officers stated.
No college students or employees had been harmed, and the mushy lockdown was lifted shortly thereafter.
No details about any expenses or pending expenses has been launched.
