1 dead, 7 injured, including 3 firefighters, in Calumet City apartment building fire
The hearth occurred in a constructing within the 200-block of Park Avenue.
Firefighters arrived on the scene and reported heavy hearth on the second ground in a unit within the rear of the constructing, with flames extending to the sevent ground and the roof.
A girl died from accidents within the hearth, officers stated. Her identification has not beenr eleased.
4 constructing residents and three firefighters had been transported to hospitals with non-life-threatening accidents, officers stated.
Hearth officers stated the constructing suffered heavy hearth and smoke harm.
It was not instantly clear how many individuals had been displaced by the hearth. The reason for the hearth stays below investigation.
