R. Kelly's Chicago Sex Abuse Conviction Upheld In Federal Court
R. Kelly‘s crusade to make a dent in his lengthy lockup in prison has crashed and burned … a federal appellate court just upheld his conviction and sentence to cap off the week.
The “Ignition” singer was sentenced to 20 years in prison in his child porn case out of Chicago, and the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals just affirmed that sentence — this after Kelly tried having it tossed, citing the statute of limitations having passed as his defense.
In reaching its conclusion, the court called Kelly’s 30-year sentence from his New York case the “elephant in the room” … and says the Chicago case sentence was set with that in mind.
This means that even if RKelly wins his appeal of the New York racketeering case, he’ll still likely have to serve another 18 years behind bars for the Chicago conviction https://t.co/u7pkbUQtwV

According to the court, the sentence also makes sense in light of the “horrible, horrific” nature Kelly’s crimes … for which Kelly was convicted in 2021.
In his New York appeal, Kelly is arguing the highly influential “Surviving R. Kelly” Lifetime docuseries influenced the trial before it even got off the ground and he was unfairly painted to be guilty.
But with this ruling out of Chicago federal court, the future may not be too promising for his chances in New York … but the courts will obviously have the final say.
Time will tell if he has the same luck as Harvey Weinstein — for now in Chicago, not at all.

2024 Met Gala Red Carpet: Looks we love

Monday is the Met Gala, a.k.a. fashion’s biggest night, when superstars from across the celebrity stratosphere throng to New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art to fete fashion – and each other.
This year’s glitzy gala hosts are Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny and Chris Hemsworth; the price of a single ticket to the evening is a reported (and eye-watering) $75,000. The guest list is always kept secret — and there’s a no-phones policy once guests step inside the Met’s doors — but past attendees include multi-hyphenate stars like Beyonce, Rihanna and Kim Kardashian.
The gala raises funds for the Met Museum’s Costume Institute. Unlike the rest of the Met’s curatorial areas, the fashion department must pay for itself — and last year, the gala raised some $22 million.
Each year’s soiree heralds the opening of a new exhibition at the Costume Institute; this year’s display is called “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.” It features about 250 pieces from the Met’s permanent collection, including garments by Givenchy, Dior and Schiaparelli.

Jeff Ross Says Tom Brady Wasn't Actually Mad About Robert Kraft Joke
Jeff Ross appeared to get scolded (for realsies) by Tom Brady at his Netflix roast after Robert Kraft became the butt of a joke … but as it turns out, it was really no big deal at all.
The legendary comedian — and bona fide roast master — went on the Rich Eisen Show Monday to talk shop about the big event from the weekend … where TB12 sat down and took a ton of darts from a lot of people, who made cracks at his expense.
The Rich Eisen Show
Of course, Jeff got up there as well and fired away too … but he ended taking a dig at Mr. Kraft in what some considered quite crude fashion. In the moment, Tom appeared pissed.
You’ll recall … he got up from his seat after Jeff’s “massage” joke and told him to “never say that s*** again” — to which Jeff complied … only to apologize and send love RK’s way in the audience. Now, he’s giving more insight into how people really felt … and he says it’s NBD.
Netflix
Take a listen … Jeff says Tom views Kraft as a father figure, and that Brady’s move was just a dude protecting his own. JR even goes so far as to say that Tom was just having fun!
Now, in terms of how Bob felt about it … Jeff’s got an answer for that too. Water under a bridge, it seems.
Some might call BS on this — ’cause frankly, Tom did seem heated — but Jeff’s not sweating it. Sounds like it was a just a moment in time … and as quickly as it came, it’s now gone.
