California ‘party mom’ accused of grooming victims for sex, drinking in ritzy mansion, teens testify at trial

A jury is hearing from teenagers who have testified about being victims of a California mom facing dozens of charges after allegedly hosting secret “alcohol-soaked benders,” in which high school freshmen were encouraged to engage in sexual behavior at her family’s swanky mansion.

Shannon O’Connor is on trial after she was slapped with 63 criminal charges stemming from her alleged involvement in throwing alcohol- and sex-fueled parties for minors during the 2020-21 school year in Santa Clara, according to KRON.

Deputy District Attorney Joanna Lee alleged O’Connor, who has been dubbed the “Los Gatos Party Mom,” hosted “chaotic, alcohol-soaked benders,” adding that “for many freshmen at Los Gatos High in 2020, their first experience with alcohol ended in overconsumption, vomiting and blackouts,” the local outlet reported. “[O’Connor’s] house was a place for children to engage in sexual conduct. The defendant groomed the children, normalized sex, encouraged hookups and sexual behavior.”

Many of the attendees were 14-year-old freshmen, with O’Connor allegedly serving as the only adult supervising the parties hosted up to five times a week, the outlet reported.

Prosecutors allege O’Connor used her son’s status on the school’s football team and “cool mom” reputation to communicate daily with the freshmen through Snapchat without their parents’ knowledge.

On Tuesday, one female minor, identified as Jane Doe 6, testified the social environment at the gatherings was “misogynistic,” while corroborating prior statements from victims alleging O’Connor pressured teens to sneak out of their homes to drink heavily and “hook-up.”

Jane Doe 6 reportedly went on to allege her best friend, a 14-year-old girl identified as Jane Doe 4, experienced symptoms of depression and alcoholism after being sexually and physically abused by boys at the parties.

“[John Doe 7] would touch her in front of everybody,” Jane Doe 6 told the court, according to KRON. “It was bad, it was weird.”

The young girl reportedly went on to testify that when John Doe 7 drank alcohol, he would act violently toward the girls at the parties and “no one reacted to it.”

“On one occasion, Jane Doe 4 was sitting in [O’Connor’s] kitchen in her swimsuit when John Doe 7 began to punch Jane Doe 4 on her leg,” Lee wrote in court documents. [O’Connor] was drinking a glass of champagne and laughed as she watched. John Doe 7 stood over her and continued to kick her legs and stomach all while [O’Connor] was sitting in the kitchen.”

Jane Doe 6 told the prosecution that her friend “was totally alcohol dependent” and “had to take shots of alcohol before she could leave her house.”

The mother of Jane Doe 4 also took the stand this week, telling the court her daughter first visited O’Connor’s home in the fall of 2020 to work on a school science project with O’Connor’s son, KRON reported.

“It all seemed normal in the beginning. She was an innocent kid. She’d never dated,” the mother said, adding that when she dropped Jane Doe 4 off at the house, “It was a very fancy, beautiful home. [O’Connor’s] son seemed like a nice kid.”

After the child made several trips to O’Connor’s home, her behavior changed, the mother testified, adding her daughter acted “really tired” and “closed off,” according to KRON.

Jane Doe 4’s mother went on to add that she confronted her daughter after noticing bruises on her body, but her concerns were brushed off.

One night, the mother noticed Jane Doe 4’s breath smelled like alcohol and told her, “no matter what it is, I will help you,” KRON reported. The mother added that her child felt “a lot of shame” and “was trying to escape.”

O’Connor’s attorney did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Another mother reportedly told the jury in previous testimony that she “100 percent trusted [O’Connor]. As a mom, I have guilt for not seeing the signs sooner.”

O’Connor has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

San Francisco man charged with attempted murder in unprovoked daylight Chinatown stabbing

SAN FRANCISCO – A 37-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder in what authorities described as an unprovoked, broad daylight stabbing in San Francisco’s Chinatown last week.

Suspect charged

What we know:

San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced that Jian Feng Huang was charged with attempted murder in connection with the attack at Stockton and Sacramento streets.

Huang, of San Francisco, will be arraigned Tuesday. He remains in custody.

Jenkins described the incident as a “horrific attack of an innocent man waiting to cross the street.” She said there is no indication that the victim and the suspect knew each other.

Surveillance video captures attack

Surveillance footage circulating online shows a man in a black hoodie walking down Stockton Street before suddenly lunging at a man who was waiting at a corner to cross the street.

The attacker stabbed the victim in the back and then walked away, according to the video. The victim is seen collapsing to the ground.

The attack occurred shortly after 1 p.m.

Bystanders rush to help

Local perspective:

Bystanders and business owners rushed to help the wounded man.

“We bring the ice and the towels to stop bleeding,” said Rawnie Chan, manager of Flags International Services. Chan said the victim was speaking in Cantonese and said he was in pain.

One business owner said she grabbed frozen dumplings from an office refrigerator to place on the wound because there were no restaurants nearby with ice available.

Victim recovering

Jenkins said the victim is recovering at a local hospital. Authorities previously said the victim suffered life-threatening injuries and has undergone at least two surgeries.

Excessive profanity: Fans get worked up on game days, and we’re fans, too. We understand that. As a general rule, keep profanity to a minimum. Some communities prohibit profanity, so be sure to review guidelines for the individual communities you participate in.
Multiple accounts and throwaway emails: These are a signal that you’re not interested in being a productive member of our communities, and we do not allow it.
Trolling: We know it when we see it, and we’ll remove it. Don’t go to a rival team’s community for the sole purpose of riling up their fans, either. Moreover, you should never publish any private or personally identifiable information. Doxxing is strictly prohibited.
The “first post” rule: If you break any of these guidelines with your very first post or interaction, it signals to our community managers you’re just here to be disruptive. Violators may be banned, blocked, or removed.
Spam: We have a zero-tolerance policy on spam, which includes sharing links to illegal game streams or downloads. Spam will be deleted and spammers may be banned, blocked, or removed.
Political commentary: Denver Stiffs is a site dedicated to the Denver Nuggets, not politics. There are many sites available on the internet to discuss politics, Denver Stiffs is not one of them. Please refrain from any political commentary while using our site.

Anyone who doesn’t follow these rules when engaging in our communities will at best be removed from the conversation, and at worst will end up banned from that community. Seattle weather: Active week ahead with rain, wind, and mountain snow

SEATTLE – An active weather pattern in western Washington this week will bring plenty of lowland rain, breezy winds and mountain snow.

Cool air setting in over western Washington will bring another chance for a rain and snow mix Tuesday morning, but there will be limited precipitation at that time.

TWO ROUNDS OF PRECIPITATION

The upcoming stretch of weather arrives in two main waves:

Round 1: Now through Tuesday morning

Showery precipitation will move through western Washington. These showers could briefly turn heavier at times.

A Puget Sound convergence zone may develop tonight into Monday around Snohomish and King Counties, which could locally increase precipitation and snow potential for the mountains and foothills.

Round 2: Tuesday night through Friday

This is the wetter phase of the forecast. A more organized storm pattern will bring steady precipitation and heavier mountain snowfall.

MOUNTAIN SNOW IN THE CASCADES

The big weather story this week will be in the mountains. With snow levels staying mostly below pass level, the Cascades are set up for a prolonged stretch of impactful snowfall. A brief bump in the snow levels on Wednesday could allow a short period of rain at Snoqualmie Pass, but confidence is still low on how long that warmer air lasts.

Several rounds of snowfall from Tuesday onward could add up to several feet of new snow in the Cascades by the end of the week. If you’re planning to travel across the Cascades, make sure your vehicle is ready for winter driving and check conditions before heading out.

BREEZY WIND AT TIMES

It will be breezy on and off most of the week, but the windiest period currently looks like Wednesday night into Thursday. The strongest winds are expected along the Washington Coast and in the usual northern Puget Sound areas.

Wind gusts could reach 40 to 50 mph in the Seattle area, which may lead to a few downed branches or isolated power outages.

RIVER FLOODING POTENTIAL

With persistent precipitation hitting the Olympics this week, the Skokomish River in Mason County will likely see flooding conditions as early as Wednesday and into late week, especially if heavier rainfall develops over the Olympic Peninsula.

AVALANCHE CONDITIONS

The combination of heavy snow and periods of wind in the mountains will cause avalanche danger to increase through the week.

By the middle of the week, very dangerous avalanche conditions could develop, especially in the Cascades and Olympics.

Anyone heading into the backcountry should be checking the latest avalanche forecasts and exercising extreme caution.

THE BOTTOM LINE

The next week will feel more like mid-winter again across Western Washington. While most lowland areas will mainly see rain, the mountains will be piling up snow.
