Missing two-year-old girl dies from drowning at Lake of the Ozarks
A two-year-old girl, who was reported missing, was found dead Monday night after drowning at the Lake of the Ozarks, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop F post.
The girl was last seen around 3 p.m., according to a Northwest Fire Protection District Facebook post.
Upon searching, the girl was found dead in Bollinger Creek Cove at the 44 mile around 8 p.m. Monday, MSHP said.
Columbia Planned Parenthood performs first abortion after 7 years
After many rules and regulations, both for and against abortions, the Columbia Planned Parenthood began providing procedural abortions on Monday, according to a spokesperson for Planned Parenthood Great Plains.
“We are resuming services today,” said the spokesperson, who asked to not be identified.
Activist files ethics complaints related to Blair Murphy’s mayoral campaign
A Columbia activist is filing an ethics complaint against businessman Blair Murphy’s campaign for Columbia mayor, alleging his campaign and some of Murphy’s donors violated state finance campaign laws and University of Missouri policy.
Anthony Willrothof activist group Hold Como Accountable filed a complaint against the Murphy for Mayor campaign committee, accusing it of failing to file paperwork to form the committee before a deadline established by state law.
Columbia Council begins discussions on new convention center
A new convention center could soon be coming to Columbia.
Columbia City Council met Monday evening to discuss possible locations, as well as the potential financial benefits of a new convention center. Council has not made a decision on whether this center will be built.
