President Donald Trump’s highly acclaimed Turnberry golf resort in Scotland was vandalized with graffiti overnight Friday by pro-Palestine activists who also dug holes into one of the course’s fairways.

Drone footage shows the resort’s clubhouse splattered with red paint while giant white letters reading “Gaza Is Not For Sale” were painted on an area next to a green.

The lamp post at the resort’s entrance was also damaged while graffiti reading “Free Gaza” and “Free Palestine” were sprayed on the entrance’s wall.

The group Palestine Action took responsibility following Trump’s plans for the future of Gaza, which could see millions of Palestinians displaced.

“To make that clear, we have shown him that his own property is not safe from acts of resistance,” the group said in a statement.

Trump received heavy criticism last month when he suggested the U.S. take over Gaza during a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netnayahu. His proposal would involve the relocation of Palestinians and turning the enclave into what he describes as the “Riviera of the Middle East.” 

Trump’s Turnberry golf course and hotel is located in southwest Scotland and has three courses – two 18-hole courses and one 9 hole course — with the venue previously hosting four Open Championships. However, it hasn’t staged the event since Trump bought the course in 2014 and renovated several holes.

It wasn’t immediately clear which course had been vandalized.

The Alisa Course, its signature course, is named after an uninhibited volcanic island, Ailsa Craig, set across from the property that is half a billion years old. The course consistently ranks among the world’s top 10 golf courses.

“Yesterday, it was ranked #3 golf course in Europe. Today, it’s shut,” Palestine Action wrote on X.

The resort is one of two that Trump, via the Trump Organization, operates in Scotland, with the second being Trump International Scotland in Aberdeen. The president is an avid golfer and his mother hailed from Scotland. 

Police in Scotland said they are investigating the incident.

“Around 4.40 a.m. on Saturday, 8 March, 2025, we received a report of damage to the golf course and a premises on Maidens Road, Turnberry,” a Police Scotland spokesperson said, adding that investigations were ongoing.

Separately on Saturday, a man waving a Palestinian flag climbed the Elizabeth Tower – commonly known as Big Ben – at London’s Palace of Westminster.

Three masked men ‘opened fire indiscriminately’ at pub in the Canadian city, authorities say.

Police in Toronto say they are searching for three men suspected of taking part in a shooting that wounded at least 12 people at a pub in the Canadian city.

The masked gunmen opened fire at the Piper Arms Pub on its opening night on Friday, according to authorities. The attack was the latest incident in a years-long uptick in gun violence in the North American country, which has prompted legislators to freeze the sale of some firearms in recent years.

“They walked into the bar. They produced their guns, and they opened fire indiscriminately on the people sitting inside the bar,” police Superintendent Paul MacIntyre told reporters on Saturday.

MacIntyre, who is with the organised crime enforcement unit, added that six of the victims have gunshot wounds that are not life-threatening. He added that the others were injured by broken glass.

The motive for the shooting remained unclear, police said.

“Our investigation will tell us whether or not this pub was targeted for a particular reason,” MacIntyre said.

“Maybe somebody was inside that somebody didn’t like. Maybe somebody had a beef with the business. We don’t know,” he added.

The police official told reporters that he had seen the bar’s surveillance video of the shooting, which showed people ducking for cover or falling on the floor after being struck.

“This is a reckless act of violence that has shaken our community and city,” he said, adding that the police will leave “no stone unturned” in finding the suspects.

Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow said on the social media platform X that she was “deeply troubled” to hear about the shooting at the pub and added that the police chief had assured her “all necessary resources have been deployed.”

Violent crime involving guns has increased by 81 percent since 2009, according to the Canadian government.

In December 2022, five people were killed and another wounded in a shooting in the suburbs of Toronto.

The surge in gun violence has prompted the government to recently ban more kinds of handguns and other firearms.

In April 2020, a gunman disguised as a policeman killed 22 people in the eastern province of Nova Scotia, Canada’s worst mass shooting. The country banned 1,500 types of military-grade or assault-style firearms days after the Nova Scotia shooting.

DENVER (AP) — Nikola Jokic sat in front of his locker, calmly scrolling through his phone, seemingly unimpressed that 30 minutes earlier he made NBA history.

The three-time NBA MVP had the league’s first 30-20-20 triple-double in the Denver Nuggets’ 149-141 overtime victory over the Phoenix Suns on Friday night. Jokic had 31 points, 21 rebounds and a career-high 22 assists.

“It’s not supposed go that way,” Jokic said. “I was talking to (Aaron Gordon) and he said to me, ‘That was a quiet 30 points.’ I didn’t do anything special, just seemed like everyone was in flow.”

Jokic tied his franchise record with his 29th triple-double of the season, and he reached it just 1:20 into the second half with his 10th rebound. He was approaching the triple-double early, finishing the first quarter with 10 points, six assists and six rebounds and had 13, nine and eight at halftime.

The 30-year-old from Serbia is averaging a triple-double with 19 games left in the season. His 28.9 points, 12.9 rebounds and 10.6 assists per game all rank in the top three in the NBA.

“I can’t describe him, so don’t ask me to,” Denver coach Michael Malone said. “The guy is just an incredible player, and when you are one of one in this league, with the tremendous history of this league, that says a lot. There’s a lot of good players in this league, but Nikola, in my opinion, is just in a class all by himself.”

His fast start to overtime lifted the Nuggets after they had blown a 21-point lead. He had five points, five assists and three rebounds in the extra period, playing nearly 45 minutes overall.

He made a 4-foot turnaround to begin overtime, fed Jamal Murray for two baskets and assisted on a dunk and layup by Christian Braun in a 13-second span.

“He’s just one of a kind,” Braun said. “You’ll never see something like this ever again – ever. You’ll never see a player that does the things he does night in and night out.”

Jokic’s previous high in assists was 19, which happened Feb. 24 at Indiana. He surpassed that on Michael Porter Jr.’s dunk that gave Denver a 139-130 lead with 1:18 left.

Jokic has 149 career triple-doubles and Friday was the seventh time this season he has had at least 15 points, 15 rebounds and 15 assists. That tied Oscar Robertson for the most in one season. His 22 assists are the most by a center in a game but he is far short of Scott Skiles’ NBA record of 30, a mark he isn’t concerned about.

“I have different problems than that right now,” he said.
