Atlanta to resume water shutoffs for overdue bills in 2023

Town of Atlanta plans to start shutting off water to residential clients with overdue payments for the primary time in 12 years.

Watershed Commissioner Mikita Browning informed the Atlanta Metropolis Council’s Metropolis Utilities Committee this week that the shutoffs will start Jan. 2 and will have an effect on as many as 27,000 clients.

Town says it is going to ship out notices with January payments warning folks to get payments caught up. Town can even name clients and go away notices on doorways.
