Two arrested, charged in February bank robbery in Washington

WASHINGTON, N.C. (WNCT) — The Washington Police Division has introduced the arrest of two folks in Greenville and charged them in a financial institution theft that occurred in February.

On Could 18, Shabazz St. Clair and Tatiyona Smith have been positioned and arrested in Greenville, in line with a media launch from the police division. St. Clair was being held within the Pitt County Detention Middle below a $271,000 bond and Smith was being held below a $75,000 bond. 

On February 23, officers with the Washington Police Division responded to a reported financial institution theft at United Financial institution positioned at 1311 Carolina Avenue. They have been advised a person entered the financial institution, mentioned he had a gun and demanded cash.

An investigation led officers to cost St. Clair with one rely of Theft with a Harmful Weapon and Smith with one rely of Conspiracy to Commit Theft. Officers mentioned within the media launch detectives have been actively looking for info that may result in the arrest of St. Clair and Smith.
