No. 10 Oregon baseball rallies from 7-run deficit, beats Washington State in 10 innings

EUGENE — Oregon rallied from a seven-run deficit, scoring eight straight runs to win its sequence opener with Washington State with a walk-off single within the tenth.

Brennan Milone went 3 for six with 4 RBIs, together with the game-winner, to steer the No. 10 Geese to an 8-7 win over the Cougars Friday evening at PK Park.

“That was a tough one to get,” Oregon coach Mark Wasikowski stated. “Via the primary 4 innings of the sport, they hit I feel it was seven balls onerous; we hit eight balls onerous. And so they had a seven-run lead. And so, , that’s baseball. We didn’t really feel like we have been catching any breaks, and we have been making an attempt to make our breaks and so they made some excellent defensive performs on us. Down 7-0 via 5 innings, Oregon (26-11, 11-5 Pac-12) received on the board by way of an Anthony Corridor sacrifice fly within the sixth and an RBI single by Milone made it 7-2 after seven.

The Geese scored 5 runs within the ninth as Milone hit a two-run single, Josh Kasevich and Corridor every singled and Bryce Boettcher scored on a wild pitch to tie it.

Washington State (14-22, 5-14) tagged RJ Gordon for six runs on 9 hits and a stroll over 3.2 innings, however Oregon’s bullpen mixed to permit only one run on two hits and three walks with eight strikeouts over the ultimate 6.1 innings.

Kolby Somers (4-2) struck out a pair in an ideal tenth to select up the win.
