Saints Sign Former Utah Standout To Active Roster

SALT LAKE CITY – The New Orleans Saints introduced that they’ve signed former Utah Utes linebacker Nephi Sewell from the franchise’s apply squad to the workforce’s energetic roster.

The transaction occurred on Thursday, November 10.

“The New Orleans Saints have signed…linebacker Nephi Sewell to the energetic roster from the apply squad,” the Saints mentioned in an announcement. “Sewell, 6-0, 226, had spent your complete common season on the apply squad till this date.”

Along with his elevation to the energetic roster, Sewell will be part of fellow former Utah standout Chase Hansen on the 53-man listing.

Sewell’s promotion comes forward of the Saints’ Week 10 matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Steelers are slated to host the Saints at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday, November 13 at 11 a.m. (MDT). The sport will likely be broadcast on FOX and NFL Sunday Ticket.

This season, the Saints have a 3-6 report, together with 1-2 on the highway. Pittsburgh will take a 2-6 report within the Week 10 contest with New Orleans.

About Nephi Sewell

Earlier than his time in faculty soccer started, Sewell was a star for the Desert Hills Thunder.

After beginning faculty at Nevada, the St. George, Utah native transferred to play for the College of Utah from 2019-21.

Throughout his ultimate season with the Utes, Sewell recorded 89 complete tackles, 54 solo tackles, and one interception.

After his faculty days, Sewell went undrafted in April. Following the 2022 NFL Draft, the linebacker signed with the Saints as a free agent.
