Rainier Valley shooting sparks massive police response

SEATTLE — A large police response is underway after a shooting in South Seattle early Thursday.

A 5 a.m., a Seattle Department of Transportation camera showed numerous police vehicles at South Othello Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Way, right in front of a Safeway store.

The westbound lanes are blocked for the investigation. Drivers are asked to use alternate routes.

We have a reporter headed to the scene to gather information.
