Police search for woman suspected of shooting, killing Detroit native near Seattle

DETROIT – A Detroit native was found shot to death near Seattle, Washington, where he was working as a traveling nurse’s assistant.

The victim, Christopher Wilson, 31, was born and raised in Detroit.

Investigators say police were called to his home in Everett, Washington on June 10 after neighbors reported hearing gunshots.

Wilson’s father, Cornelius Wilson, said his youngest son recently went out to the Seattle area on assignment for his traveling nurse’s assistant program.

Everett Police have identified Wilson’s girlfriend Shawntea Grimes Hamilton, 29, as a suspect in the killing. According to police, Hamilton fled after the shooting and hasn’t been seen since.

Police believe it was a domestic violence incident.

As the search for Hamilton continues, Wilson’s family is mourning this loss.

“He was healthy and happy and then in 12 to 14 hours they give me a phone call in the middle of the night telling me that he’s no longer here,” Cornelius Wilson said.

Wilson’s father believes Hamilton also has ties to the Detroit area and asks the public to be on the lookout.

“If you know her whereabouts, please inform the local authorities,” Cornelius Wilson said. “So she can be brought to justice and asked a few questions about what happened in that apartment on that given evening.”
