Art Memorializes Anniversary of 16 St. Baptist Church Bombing

On Sept. 15, Seattle College remembered, mourned and mirrored on the horrific bombing of the sixteenth Road Baptist Church in Birmingham, Ala., that befell 59 years in the past. On this anniversary, a brand new artwork piece was unveiled on campus on the Chapel of St. Ignatius, memorializing the lives of these misplaced on that day.

The work, 10:22AM by artist Hiawatha D., honors Addie Mae Collins, Denise McNair, Carole Robertson and Cynthia Wesley, the 4 younger women who had been killed within the racially motivated assault.
