Man leads police on chase from Ocean Beach into downtown San Diego

SAN DIEGO – Officers with the San Diego Police Division had been led on a chase that began in Ocean Seaside and traveled into downtown San Diego late Saturday afternoon.

Police officers say that the incident began within the 2500 block of Bacon Avenue round 4:50 p.m. and ended at 5:12 p.m. when officers deployed spike strips on southbound Interstate 5 close to the exit for Foremost Avenue. The motive force was promptly taken into custody by officers on scene.

The automobile was pushed by an unidentified 35-year-old man who police say was wished for home violence.

All lanes of site visitors on I-5 southbound are actually open. No accidents have been reported from this incident.

The matter stays underneath investigation by officers with the San Diego Police Division.
