Oregon State Hospital patient convicted of killing mom found after escape
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – An Oregon State Hospital psychiatric affected person is again in custody after escaping throughout an accepted outing on Thursday.
In response to Oregon Well being Authority (OHA), 39-year-old Thaddeus Ziemlak escaped round 4:30 p.m. in Eugene.
Round 9:45 a.m. Friday, a passerby contacted Oregon State Police after seeing Ziemlak on Freeway 126 close to Veneta, Oregon.
OHA stated Ziemlak was in police custody by 10:20 a.m. He was delivered to Lane County jail and is being transferred to Oregon State Hospital’s Salem campus.
In January 2020, Ziemlak escaped from Psychiatric Safety Evaluation Board (PSRB) supervision in Pendleton throughout a deliberate group outing and was discovered almost a month later in Pasadena, California. Authorities observe he has a historical past of escape from PSRB custody and was transferred to Pendleton in 2019.
Ziemlak was convicted of killing his mom in her Eugene house in 2004.
