Mysterious investigation into alleged misconduct at small Oregon agency cost state time, money but outcome shrouded in secrecy
The state of Oregon paid an outside law firm tens of thousands of dollars to investigate workplace complaints against the head of a small state agency. But state officials, from the governor’s office to the agency in question, called the Oregon Workers’ Compensation Board, are tight-lipped about what the investigation found and any consequences that were meted out.
It was one of two personnel investigations that the state paid for or conducted into top employees at the 79-person agency, which handles workers’ compensation disputes.
