Mariposa man sentenced for abducting, sexually abusing Oregon minor he met online

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — A Mariposa man has been sentenced to jail for abducting and sexually abusing a minor from Oregon whom he met on-line.

On Thursday, officers introduced 26-year-old Richard Dearing was sentenced to greater than 15 months in jail, adopted by a life time period of supervised launch.

Courtroom paperwork present authorities began looking out for a lady reported lacking by her household in August 2020. They discovered messages between the woman and Dearing.

Police talked to Dearing in regards to the woman’s attainable location. That very same day, she walked into the Merced County Sheriff’s Workplace and informed deputies she ran away from dwelling.

Authorities say that story was faux and coerced by Dearing to avoid wasting himself.

The woman was finally reunited together with her household in Oregon.

Investigators found the 2 met on Omege in June 2020 and continued speaking on Instagram. Chats confirmed that Dearing knew the woman was a minor and continued the dialog.

Dearing drove over 600 miles to Oregon to the woman’s home and had a plan to maintain her from being tracked.

He took the woman to a resort in Oregon and sexually abused her, later taking her again to California with him.

Dearing finally dropped off the woman at a police station.

He was charged in January of 2021 with tried sexual exploitation of a kid, transportation with intent to have interaction in prison sexual exercise, receipt of kid pornography, and possession of kid pornography.

Three months later, a federal grand jury in Eugene returned an indictment in opposition to Dearing. He was sentenced on Thursday.
