California man falls 300 ft from cliff, dies along Oregon coast
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A California man died after falling about 300 toes from a cliff alongside the Southern Oregon coast Sunday, the Curry County Sheriff’s Workplace mentioned.
Deputies from the sheriff’s workplace responded to the incident on the request of the Brookings Police Division. Police advised the sheriff’s workplace that an individual had fallen off a cliff on the Pure Bridges viewpoint, about 20 miles south of Gold Seashore.
Deputies and search and rescue crews responded to the scene, together with Oregon State Police, Cal Ore Life Flight Ambulance, and fireplace crews.
A Brookings Hearth Division EMT who can be a search and rescue member made his means all the way down to the one who had fallen and decided the individual was lifeless.
Witnesses advised deputies and a state trooper on the scene that the sufferer was 56-year-old Nam Ing of Penngrove, Calif. They mentioned he was mountain climbing with pals when he slipped from the path and fell onto the rocks on the shoreline under.
The sheriff’s workplace search and rescue workforce used a rope system to decrease a rappeler all the way down to the sufferer. Collectively first responders lifted the rescuer and Ing again to the highest of the cliff.
Oregon State Police reached out to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Workplace to contact Ing’s household.
“That is such a tragedy and from all of us right here on the Curry County Sheriff’s Workplace, we ship our condolences to the Ing household,” the sheriff’s workplace wrote in a press launch.
The sheriff’s workplace reminds folks that though the Pure Bridges space is gorgeous to go to, it is usually very harmful. Deputies are referred to as to that space typically for rescues and recoveries.
