Stranded Boy Scouts troop rescued from New Mexico forest
SILVER CITY, N.M. (CNN) – A Boy Scouts troop from El Paso, Texas, was rescued after they had been stranded for a number of days in New Mexico’s Gila Nationwide Forest.
9 adults and 16 youngsters set off Oct. 1 for what was alleged to be a week-long tenting journey. Nevertheless, heavy rain and a rising river prevented the scouts from leaving their campsite.
Households again house turned fearful once they didn’t hear from their family members.
New Mexico State Police stated they obtained a name from somebody within the troop Oct. 8, however dangerous climate prevented them from making an attempt a rescue.
Officers stated rescuers flew within the subsequent day to seek out the scouts.
