New Mexico man gets 2 life in prison terms for 2009 murders

ALAMOGORDO, N.M. — A New Mexico man convicted in a 2009 double murder case has been sentenced to 2 consecutive life jail phrases.

Prosecutors mentioned 49-year-old Robert Chavez’s sentences will run consecutive with earlier sentences, together with a 26-year jail time period for drug trafficking and life in jail plus 21 years for one more homicide.

Chavez was convicted final month of the 2009 double murder of Max Griego Jr. and Mary Hudson Gutierrez and sentenced final Thursday.

Prosecutors mentioned Chavez was the chief of the “AZ Boys” group allegedly related to drug trafficking.

Courtroom information present Griego and Hudson Gutierrez have been discovered fatally shot at her Alamogordo house in July 2009 and two males plus a driver have been seen fleeing the scene.

The case went chilly for nearly a decade till Chavez and two different suspects have been indicted in January 2019.
