Former New Mexico State Police officer headed to prison for dealing drugs
NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Former New Mexico State Police officer Daniel Capehart is awaiting sentencing for dealing medicine to teenagers whereas he was on the pressure. Capehart was arrested in 2018 when he supplied marijuana to somebody he thought was a teenage woman, in trade for photographs of her. He was really speaking to an undercover officer. It turned out, that Capehart was stealing medicine seized throughout arrests, for ladies he was romantically occupied with, together with a 16-year-old woman.

In line with federal sentencing tips, Capehart faces a minimal of 5 years in jail. Prosecutors say that’s not sufficient and argue he abused a place of public belief and nonetheless tries to excuse his personal conduct as that of an inexperienced officer. They’re pushing for eight years in jail.
