Nevada named 3rd worst state for medical costs in new study
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A new study reveals a trend in medical costs for Nevada healthcare.
Universal Drugstore conducted a report to analyze the average costs of an ER visit, hospital stays, and childbirth, as well as the percentage of people who avoid healthcare due to the costs.
According to the data, Nevada was named the 3rd worst state for medical costs nationwide.

The study found that ER visits average $2,583, the fifth most expensive in the country.
Nevada was also titled the fourth most costly state for giving birth, with expectant parents expected to pay more than $21,000 on average.
According to the study, 12.7% of the state’s population reported avoiding care due to medical costs in 2022.
The state’s access to medical care is also the fifth lowest in the nation.
