Biggest Winners, Loser From UFC Vegas 120

UFC Vegas 120 went down last night (Sat., Aug. 8, 2026) from inside the new and improved Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, which saw Quillan Salkilld defeat Mateusz Gamrot in the very first round via rear-naked choke (see it again here). In the co-main event of the evening, Diego Ferreira defeated Billy Quarantillo by unanimous decision in what proved to be an all-out war.

Biggest Winner: Quillan Salkilld

The Lightweight division has a legit new contender on its hands as Salkilld passed one of the biggest tests of his combat career with flying colors after disposing of the No. 6 ranked fighter in the weight class with relative ease. He now has six straight wins inside the Octagon, which includes winning his last four via first-round stoppage, earning a post-fight bonus award in each of those wins. The Aussie has arrived and will be a problem for anyone in the division, and he will be facing the cream of the crop moving forward as a Top 5 spot should be in his near future.

Runner Up: Yadier del Valle

del Valle was able to get back on track after suffering his first-ever loss at the hands of Jordan Leavitt earlier this year by absolutely crushing Darren Elkins with a first-round knockout performance. In doing so, he ruins Elkins’ retirement fight and sends him on his way with a crushing loss. “The Cuban Problem” improves to 3-1 under the UFC banner and his latest performance inches him a bit closer to a ranking consideration. He also goes home with a nice post-fight bonus.

Biggest Loser (s): Mateusz Gamrot and Amanda Lemos

Gamrot let a huge opportunity slip away after he was destroyed by Salkilld in the opening frame. Gamrot simply didn’t show up and he gave up his neck for a submission that ultimately cost him the fight relatively easy. He is now 2-3 in his last five fights which will cost him a few spots in the rankings. That also means that his dreams of ever being in championship consideration drifts further away. He once again showed that he can’t get over the hump and win the huge fight after recently losing to Dan Hooker and Charles Oliveira and now Salkilld. This one, however, is going to haunt him for a while. As for Lemos, her drastic downfall continued last night after she lost her third straight fight via unanimous decision, this time against Alexia Thainara, dropping her to 1-4 in her last five fights. That’s a massive decline from a woman who at one time competed for a UFC world title. That seems so long ago, and the chances of her getting to the big dance once more now seems like it may never happen again.
