Nevada County jail inmate dies after being found unresponsive in her cell
NEVADA CITY – An investigation is underway after the loss of life of an inmate being housed on the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility.
Amy Wayne Morris was discovered unresponsive in her cell Tuesday morning, the Nevada County Sheriff’s Workplace says. Correctional workers began life-saving measures and paramedics had been referred to as.
Morris was then taken by ambulance to Sierra Memorial Hospital. There, the sheriff’s workplace says she was quickly pronounced useless.
The 40-year-old Truckee resident had been arrested by the Truckee Police Division again on Jan. 15 on suspicion of home violence. She was then transferred to Wayne Brown the following day.
An official explanation for loss of life is pending post-mortem outcomes.
