JUCO NEWS: Southern Nevada hires Lee as new Head Men’s Basketball Coach – HoopDirt

The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) has announced the appointment of Mike Lee as the new Head Coach for the Men’s Basketball Team. With an impressive background in coaching and a wealth of experience in the basketball community, Coach Lee brings a fresh perspective and a winning mindset to the Coyotes Athletics department.

Coach Lee’s journey in basketball began with his own accomplishments as a Division I student athlete at Prairie View A&M University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communication. He further honed his skills as a student athlete at Riverside Community College and Victor Valley College, excelling on and off the court. Coach’s Lee most recently served as the interim head coach at Durango High School in Las Vegas, where he successfully led the team to a NIAA 5A State Championship (2023). Prior to that, he demonstrated his coaching prowess at Clark High School, Del Sol Academy of Arts High School, and Centennial High School, leaving a positive impact on the players and fostering a culture of excellence.

“I look forward to the many challenges ahead and I humbly appreciate the opportunity to be apart of the Men’s Basketball program at CSN and developing the culture and community of Southern Nevada here in Las Vegas,” said Mike Lee. 
Throughout his career, Coach Lee has demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication to the development of young athletes where he consistently inspired his teams to achieve greatness.

Furthermore, Coach Lee’s commitment to excellence extends beyond the basketball court. With an illustrious 30-year tenure at the Clark County Fire Department, he displayed exemplary leadership qualities as a Fire Captain before retiring in 2017. This unique combination of athletic expertise and exceptional leadership sets Coach Lee apart as an invaluable asset to the College of Southern Nevada.
