A wood pile caught on fire near Crescent Valley Monday afternoon and threatened nearby buildings.
The fire, on Cobble Lane south of Crescent Valley, was reported by the Eureka County Sheriff’s Office around 2:00 p.m. this afternoon.
According to Sheriff Jesse Watts with the Eureka County Sheriff’s Office, the fire was knocked down quickly and is no longer threatening any buildings.
Crews are still on scene mopping up, so people are being asked to avoid the area.
No information has been given as to the cause of the fire.
