MINERSVILLE, Beaver County — State and county officials recovered the body of a 29-year-old man from Nevada who drowned in the Minersville Reservoir Friday evening.

Around 6:46 p.m., local emergency services received a call that a man was entering the water near the spillway at the reservoir, according to a press release from the Beaver County Sheriff’s Office. The caller reported that the man went into the water to cool down but couldn’t stay afloat because of the high water level.

After 20 minutes of searching, local police, fire and search and rescue officials found the man’s body 300 yards from where he originally entered the water.
