Montana National Guard rescue a dozen people stranded by flooding
HELENA — As of Tuesday afternoon, Montana Nationwide Guard helicopter crews have rescued a dozen individuals who had been stranded resulting from flooding in southern Montana.
Upon the request from native regulation enforcement, the Montana Nationwide Guard on Monday despatched a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter and one CH-47 Chinook helicopter to help in Search and Rescue efforts in Roscoe and Cooke Metropolis.
Each helicopters and their aircrews are a part of the 1-189th Common Assist Aviation Battalion, primarily based in Helena.
Officers say that preliminary experiences point out that the Montana Nationwide Guard helicopters despatched to Roscoe and Cooke Metropolis on Monday efficiently evacuated 12 people who had been stranded resulting from flooding.
Crews are at the moment responding to a request for search and rescue help within the neighborhood of East Rosebud Lake.
