As 2023 draws to a close, we reflect on how Montanans have created a better Montana through charitable giving. As the President and CEO of the Montana Community Foundation (MCF), I am sincerely grateful for our donors’ steadfast support, which has been the cornerstone of our organization’s achievements over the past 35 years.

MCF’s presence extends across Montana, with notable contributions in Billings, supporting entities like the Alberta Bair Theater, Community Leadership & Development Inc (CLDI), 100 Strong Billings, and the Billings Public Education Foundation. Since the first of this year, 63 grants were issued to Yellowstone County through MCF, totaling over $500,000. In Eastern Montana, our collaboration with Grid United’s Community Investment Program (CIP) saw 17 projects in Rosebud, Custer, and Fallon Counties receive $254,433.

In 2023, MCF proudly allocated over $1 million in scholarships, demonstrating our commitment to educational empowerment for Montana’s students. $18,000 in scholarships were awarded to students of Yellowstone County, and we hope to award more in scholarship dollars in 2024 than in 2023 — our 2024 scholarship program launches on Jan. 1, 2024.
