Food stamps: August direct payments to Montana SNAP recipients end in three days
Montana households eligible for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program have three more days to receive their food stamps before the program wraps up for August.
Payments are issued in Montana beginning on the 2nd of the month and ending on the 6th, so August’s payments will end on Sunday. A household’s specific payment arrival date will vary depending on the SNAP case number, account number, Social Security, or last name.

In Montana, the maximum payment for a household of one is $281. A household of five can collect up to $1,116, and a household of eight can receive up to $1,691. An additional $211 is included in the payment for each member over eight.

The average payment per household member per month in Montana is $177. Approximately 8% of the population, or 89,200 people, receive food stamps in the state.
Eligible households can use their SNAP benefits at participating locations, such as farmers markets and grocery stores, with the payments intended to be spent on healthy foods. Payments are reloaded each month onto an electronic benefit transfer card.
