On Tuesday, the Idaho Board of Land Commissioners (Land Board) permitted a request by the College of Idaho (U of I) to buy land central to its Heart for Agriculture, Meals and the Setting (CAFE).

In November 2021, 282 acres of Agricultural School endowment land in Caldwell was bought for $23,250,000, because it was not used for experimental farming. The funds have been positioned within the Land Financial institution fund for use for the acquisition of actual property.

With Tuesday’s vote, which was unanimous, the Land Board permitted the usage of proceeds from the Caldwell property to accumulate 638 acres of farmland north of Rupert at the moment owned by U of I.
