OWYHEE COUNTY – Jared Holt, of Homedale, Idaho simply retains reupping himself. On July 9, Jared was fishing on the Snake River in Owyhee County when he landed a brand new state catch-and-release file flathead catfish. The behemoth 43 inch lengthy fish was simply an inch longer than the earlier file, which was set again in 2020 by none apart from Holt himself.
In line with the Idaho Fish & Recreation, Idaho has a number of species of catfish, the most typical of that are channel catfish, brown bullhead and black bullhead. Whereas these species are generally discovered throughout Idaho, flathead catfish are discovered solely within the Snake River, principally in Brownlee Reservoir and upstream of it.
Brownlee Reservoir produced the most important certified-weight file flathead catfish in 1994 that weighed in at 58.5 kilos (48 inches lengthy). Flathead catfish are predators of different smaller fish, typically searching at evening.
Catch-and-release data started being stored in 2016 and are based mostly on complete size of the fish.
