IDAHO COUNTY – Idaho County Deputies and K9s were busy over Memorial Day Weekend conducting emphasis patrols in the Highway 12 corridor.
In total, drug detection K9s Millie, Mic and Nation were deployed 93 times resulting in one felony arrest for possession of cocaine and 44 misdemeanor citations. The emphasis patrol also resulted in 31 infraction citations being written.
According to the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, the felony arrest for possession of cocaine was made on Saturday, May 27 after an Idaho County deputy initiated a stop for a traffic offense. During the stop, Idaho County K9 Millie arrived on scene and was deployed before giving a positive alert for the presence of narcotics. Deputies searched the vehicle and located Cocaine, prescription medications with no prescription, marijuana and paraphernalia.
As a result, 41-year-old Claire Thexton, of Portland, OR, was arrested for felony possession of Cocaine and cited for misdemeanor possession of prescription meds without a prescription, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia.
