Crash near Greer Grade closes Highway 12 for 2.5 hours

OROFINO – On October ninth at 06:56 a.m. on Sunday Idaho State Police responded to a head on automobile collision, eastbound US 12 close to milepost 51.5, on the backside of the Greer Grade in Lewis County, Idaho.

 

A gray, 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer was touring eastbound on US 12 close to milepost 51.5. The Chevrolet crossed left of heart and impacted a white, 2013 Dodge Ram 5500 head on. All occupants of the Chevrolet, driver, passenger, and two juvenile passengers have been transported to an area hospital.

Not one of the occupants of the Chevrolet had been carrying seatbelts. The occupants of the Dodge have been carrying seatbelts and suffered minor accidents.

 

Kamiah Hearth-Rescue, Clearwater County ambulance, the Orofino Hearth Division, Lewis County Sheriffs Workplace, Clearwater County Sheriffs Workplace and the Idaho State Police all responded to the incident. The roadway was blocked for about 2.5 hours.
