POCATELLO – Firefighters with the Bureau of Land Administration are battling a blaze close to Pocatello.

Sara Morelli with the BLM tells EastIdahoNews.com the East Hole Fireplace began Saturday round 1:25 a.m. in Blackrock Canyon.

It’s burning 300 acres, as of 9 a.m.

The reason for the fireplace has not been decided. There isn’t any report of accidents or threats to houses or buildings within the space.

“Fireplace crews labored all through the evening and are persevering with to work at the moment with a number of sources and crews assigned to the fireplace,” a information launch from the BLM says.
