Fire destroys homes, prompts evacuations in Southern California

HEMET, Calif. – A quick-moving brush hearth began in Southern California Monday, burning close by properties and prompting evacuations for elements of the realm.

The Fairview Fireplace began simply after 3 p.m. Monday in Hemet. Firefighters say after they first responded, it had solely burned 20 acres however shortly stretched to 500 acres by 5 p.m.

Cal Fireplace introduced an evacuation order has been issued for the next areas:

  • South of Thornton Avenue
  • North of Polly Butte Street
  • West of Fairview Avenue
  • East of State Avenue.

Officers didn’t say when the evacuation orders might be lifted.

The reason for the hearth stays underneath investigation.
