This week the California Governor’s Workplace of Emergency Companies (Cal OES) and the California Army Division introduced the creation of the primary all-hazards hearth engine strike crew operated by a state navy division.
Cal OES is deploying a Kind 6 strike crew of wildland-style hearth engines, named Crew Blaze, to the State Army Division to reinforce California’s Hearth and Rescue Mutual Assist fleet.
These four-person engines complement the Army Division’s current Job Power Rattlesnake hand crew program consisting of Troopers and Airmen. Because the begin of operations in 2019, Job Power Rattlesnake has reduce, cleared and handled at-risk wildfire challenge areas in central and northern of California.
The State’s Army Division maintains a firefighting program at their navy bases, with skilled personnel offering firefighting prevention, mitigation and safety providers to California and navy bases and camps.
