SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) — Seven folks have been arrested on suspicion of working unlawful playing dens at Southern California houses after a years-long investigation uncovered a collection of alleged crimes that included drug trafficking, bribery and a taking pictures, authorities mentioned Wednesday.

The so-called “slaphouses” have been operated inside residences in suburban Santa Ana and surrounding areas of Orange County, California Legal professional Common Rob Bonta’s workplace mentioned in an announcement.

Lopez, who pleaded responsible in December 2020 to accepting the bribes, is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 17.

Authorities are looking for two further suspects.

The investigation included brokers from the FBI and the California Division of Justice’s Bureau of Playing Management.

Shifting playing into residential neighborhoods makes it harder for police to detect since they want a warrant to get in. Neighbors are sometimes afraid to report the houses to police even once they entice drug use and different crime.
