California man allegedly stabbed multiple people; was arrested, released week prior
A California man was arrested Saturday morning after allegedly stabbing two people and attacking two others.
Efrain Troncoso, 22, was arrested on accusations of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, robbery and attempted vehicle theft, according to Ventura Police.
The first incident happened shortly after 7 a.m. near Ash Street and Thompson Boulevard, where a victim reported he was stabbed in the back by a man on a bicycle.

While the police were attending to that man, a woman called 911 and reported that a man stabbed her in the neck as she was walking on Chestnut Street.
Just minutes later, another man reported that a suspect had struck him in the head with a metal pipe and robbed him.
As police were searching the area for the suspect, another victim called 911 and said a man had robbed him at knife point, which included taking his car keys.

All four attacks happened in under 30 minutes and within five blocks of each other.
Police located Troncoso inside a car that he had broken into as he was attempting to start the car with the stolen keys, and he was taken into custody.
Troncoso had been arrested several times in Moorpark, including as recently as last week for alleged arson and resisting arrest, for which he was released on Nov. 12, according to police. He had also previously been arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Hotel worker strike continues in San Francisco amid Thanksgiving festivities
This could be a very loud and sleepless Thanksgiving holiday for those visiting or staying in the San Francisco’s Union Square.
The sound of banging drums and people shouting on loudspeakers has been constant in the neighborhood for the last two months as members of a local hotel workers union have been striking in front of local hotels.
“it has been 60, 67 days. It’s been a long time,” said Afong Lam.
Lam is a 12-year employee of the Westin St Francis at Union Square. Her union has been at a deadlock with the hotel ownership over three issues.
They oppose the owner’s offer of what the union claims are reduced healthcare benefits for new employees. They also oppose the hotel’s offer of a five year agreement, saying union members want a four year term.
Workers are also pushing for a higher wage that matches up with the cost-of-living increase in San Francisco over the last few years.
But union negotiators say they’ll forgo the wage hike if the hotel ownership would agree to a profit-sharing arrangement. That’s the idea behind their “Bet on SF” signs. But with negotiations at a standstill as the union is now expanding it’s strike.
This week, 500 employees of the Marriott Marquis hotel walked off the job.
The addition of the Marriott Marquis employees means that there are now about 2,500 hotel employee on the picket lines at hotels across downtown San Francisco.
Miguel Medina is among the Marriott Marquis workers who are joining the strike. He says other workers from outside San Francisco are also joining the picket lines.
“It means a lot to you know, having people from all over the country and other countries to support us,” he said.
NBC Bay Area reached out to Marriott International for comment But have not heard back.
A spokesman for the Hotel Council of San Francisco told NBC Bay Area that they are not part of the negotiations But hope an agreement is reached soon.

Broncos Predicted to Draft Michigan Playmaker in Round 1 by PFF
The Denver Broncos will look to improve the roster this coming offseason, specifically early in the 2025 NFL draft. One position that will be mocked to Denver in the latter half of the first round will be tight end.
Denver is currently receiving next to nothing from its trio of tight ends — Adam Trautman, Nate Atkins, and Lucas Krull — in the passing game and none are all that great as inline blockers. Therefore it makes some sense for the Broncos to consider the position early come April.
That’s a viable path, according to Pro Football Focus’ most recent mock draft from Gordon McGuinness. With PFF projecting Denver taking the first tight end off the board in Michigan‘s Colston Loveland, Denver could add a versatile piece to the offense that has been missing.
“The Broncos’ upcoming offseason should focus on surrounding quarterback Bo Nix with as much talent as possible. Adding a premium tight end would be a significant boost, especially considering no tight end on the current roster has more than 14 targets this season.
“Loveland has been outstanding in 2024, earning an 88.0 PFF receiving grade while averaging 2.67 yards per route run,” McGuinness wrote.

Loveland is a good athlete for the tight end position. He explodes off the line at the snap, has extremely strong hands at the catch point, and offers flexibility to play in line or in the slot.
While not an overwhelming big player for a tight end listed at 6-foot-5 and 245 pounds (245 is in the 18th percentile for tight ends at the NFL Combine dating back to 1999), Loveland plays tough as a blocker and in yards-after-catch situations, while not being special in either area.
Loveland is an exceptionally smart player who understands spacing as a pass-catcher and blocker deployed in a multitude of ways. He wouldn’t simply replace the Broncos’ tight ends should he land in the Mile High City, but with Sean Payton’s emphasis on a “big slot,” Loveland would see ample snaps replacing Lil’Jordan Humphry as well.
The Broncos offense has been on the rise. Thanks in large part due to the growth of rookie quarterback Bo Nix into what appears to be a franchise-caliber quarterback, Courtland Sutton’s re-emergence as a viable No. 1 receiver, and the upper-echelon play from the offensive line (specifically in pass protection), the Broncos offense just keeps getting better.
Since Week 7, Denver’s offense ranks 13th in the NFL in EPA/Play and 15th in offensive success rate compared to being the 26th-ranked offense in EPA/Play and 28th in success rate in Weeks 1-6. The offense is undoubtedly improving but still has ample room for growth under Payton.
Outside of running back, perhaps no position in Denver could use more of an immediate bump than tight end. Historically, though, neither tight end nor running back are high return-on-investment positions.
And given the incredible depth at tight end (as well as running back) in the upcoming draft class, Denver may consider other avenues with its first-round selection.

Seattle Seahawks Injury Report: Big names DNP to start week
A trio of notable players did not practice when the Seattle Seahawks began their week of preparation Wednesday ahead of playing the New York Jets this weekend.
The names: wide receivers Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf, and defensive end Leonard Williams.
Stacy Rost’s three thoughts with Seahawks back atop NFC West
Lockett was held out with a knee injury while Metcalf’s reason listed was a shoulder. As for Williams, it’s a lingering foot injury that kept him from practicing a couple of times last week. Watching Williams’ monster performance in Seattle’s 16-6 win over the Arizona Cardinals, however, you’d be hard pressed to think there was anything wrong with him.
Also on the list of players who did not practice were nose tackle Jarran Reed for rest, and new safety AJ Finley, who was acquired Wednesday as a waiver claim from the Los Angeles Chargers. Finley has an ankle issue.
Seahawks Moves: Starting OL to IR; DB added from Chargers
Only three players were limited in practice, the most notable being Uchenna Nwosu (thigh), who was designated to return to practice this week from injured reserve.
Seven players dealing with injuries were listed as full participants by the Seahawks, including tackle Stone Forsythe (hand), another player designated to return to practice this week from IR.
Here are the full Seahawks and Jets injury reports from Wednesday.
