DPS trooper shoots, kills suspect near Arizona-New Mexico border

SANDERS, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) – Authorities are investigating after a Division of Public Security trooper shot and killed a suspect close to the Arizona and New Mexico state border Saturday evening. Based on DPS, a trooper was concerned in a taking pictures with a suspect within the space of U.S. 191 and East Solar Lane in Sanders round 10:15 p.m. Sanders is about 21 miles west of the border with New Mexico.

DPS says no troopers had been damage throughout the incident. It’s unclear what led as much as the taking pictures. DPS has not recognized the suspect who died and stated authorities should not searching for some other suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
