Three soldiers who died in Army helicopter collision in Alaska are identified

The names of three troopers killed in a mid-air collision between two navy helicopters over Alaska have been launched by the U.S. Military on Saturday.

The deceased have been recognized as Chief Warrant Officer 3 Christopher Robert Eramo, 39, of Oneonta, New York; Chief Warrant Officer 2 Kyle D. McKenna, 28, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and, Warrant Officer 1 Stewart Duane Wayment, 32, of North Logan, Utah.

“The battalion is devastated and mourning the lack of three of our greatest,” Lt. Col. Matthew C. Carlsen, commander of Alaska-based 1st Assault Battalion, twenty fifth Aviation, mentioned in a press release.

An extra soldier was injured within the crash and subsequently stabilized at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital in Alaska, the U.S. Military’s eleventh Airborne Division mentioned within the assertion.

The reason for Thursday’s collision between two Apache assault helicopters close to Healy, Alaska, was beneath investigation by a crew from the Alabama-based U.S. Military Fight Readiness Heart, the Military mentioned.
