A number of inches of contemporary, blowing snow on high of snowfall from earlier within the weekend was making for hazardous driving within the Anchorage space on Sunday night.
A bulletin from the Nationwide Climate Service Sunday afternoon mentioned 4 inches to eight inches of extra accumulation was anticipated, with the heaviest snowfall alongside the Hillside, in East Anchorage and Eagle River.
By early night, driving was a problem across the metropolis, with slick roadways, snow piling up on many roads and blowing snow.
“The heaviest snow will shift to east Anchorage and areas alongside the mountains as we head into the night hours,” the Nationwide Climate Service wrote. “Snow will taper off in a single day by early Monday morning, lingering the longest alongside the mountains.”
A snow advisory was in impact by 5 a.m. Monday.
